BACKGROUND: PREVENTING SUPINE POSITION
Sleeping on your back is one of the most common causes of snoring. This sleeping position promotes snoring and breathing stops, as the tongue and soft tissue fall backwards and block the upper respiratory tract. Avoiding supine position during sleep can thus effectively reduce or prevent snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.
PREVENTING SUPINE POSITION WITH SOMNOBELT® ANTI SNORING BELT
The anti snoring belt is worn at night and promotes the lateral position during sleep. The inner cushion in the back prevents the sleeping person from turning on his or her back. It is also called snoring belt or positioning aid.
FOR WHOM IS SOMNOBELT® SUITABLE?
SomnoBelt® snoring belt is suitable for patients with normal weight to moderate overweight. We recommend our SomnoCushion® Pro positional sleep device to those who are severely overweight because it is more resilient.
SIZES
The anti snoring belt is available in two sizes: size 1 (S-M, chest strap 108 x 19 x 8 cm) and size 2 (L-XXXL, chest strap 143 x 19 x 8 cm). Note: Choose the size according to your size of tops.
COMPOSITION & MATERIAL
The ultralight, padded and adjustable anti snoring belt is made of tear-resistant nylon. The flexible straps in the chest area ensure that you do not feel constricted when breathing. A zippered pocket contains the high-quality, padded inner cushion. The cushion is filled with a mixture of polyester fiber and foam flakes. Both fillers are certified according to OEKO-TEX®. The Velcro fastener makes sure that the SomnoBelt® anti snoring belt does not slip during sleep.
In addition to the inner cushion, we offer an air cushion for SomnoBelt inflatable by mouth. The air cushion is space-saving and low weight making it particularly suitable for travelling.
LEARNING EFFECT
By wearing the SomnoBelt® anti snoring belt regularly, the body gets used to the lateral sleeping position. Positional therapy thus creates a kind of learning effect. Many people do not need any positioning aid after some time, as they automatically sleep on their side.
Alternatively, we offer anti snoring backpacks, a snoring pillow or an electronic sleep position trainer to prevent supine position.
If you snore regardless of your sleeping position, our SomnoGuard mouth splints, such as our SomnoGuard® SP Soft oral appliance or our SomnoGuard® AP mandibular advancement splint are the right thing for you.
