Background: Snoring in supine position
Studies show that snoring occurs more often in supine position (back position) than in lateral position. Especially in supine position, the lower jaw and tongue can fall back. The upper airways are blocked and you hear the disturbing snoring noise.
Preventing supine position with SomnoCushion® Standard anti snoring backpack
You wear SomnoCushion® Standard anti snoring backpack like a conventional backpack at night. The anti snoring backpack prevents you from turning on your back during sleep which promotes snoring and sleep apnoea. By wearing a positioning aid, snoring and breathing interruptions can thus be avoided.
For whom is SomnoCushion® Standard anti snoring backpack suitable?
SomnoCushion® Standard is suitable for patients with normal weight or slight overweight. If you are heavily overweight, we recommend our SomnoCushion® Pro positional sleep device, as it is more resilient.
SomnoCushion® Standard is available in one size. The anti snoring backpack can be used regardless of body height.
Composition & material
The backpack cover of SomnoCushion® Standard consists of a robust cotton fabric (65 % polyester, 35 % cotton). It contains an air cushion that is inflatable by mouth. The three straps in the area of abdomen and shoulders are in a plain white. The straps are equipped with sliding buckles. You can adjust the air pressure and belt tension individually ensuring a high level of wearing comfort. Due to its low weight, SomnoCushion® Standard anti snoring backpack is hardly noticeable at night. The anti snoring backpack is also suited for travelling as you can stow it in any luggage to save space.
By wearing the anti snoring backpack regularly, the body gets used to sleeping in a lateral position. Positional therapy can thus create a learning effect. Many people will no longer need positioning aids after a while, as they automatically sleep on their side.
Would you like to treat yourself to a little more comfort? Then our SomnoCushion® Comfort positioning aid is the right thing for you. Alternatively, we offer a snoring pillow, a snoring belt or an electronic sleep position trainer to prevent supine position.
You snore regardless of your sleeping position? Then our SomnoGuard mouth splints against snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea may be right for you, e.g. our SomnoGuard® 3 anti snoring mouthpiece.
