BACKGROUND: THE CORRECT SLEEPING POSITION FOR SNORING & OSA
Studies show that sleeping on your back promotes snoring and sleep apnoea. Lying on the back can cause the lower jaw and tongue to fall back and block the upper respiratory tract. The breathing air can no longer flow unhindered into the lungs and the slackened muscle and soft tissue flutters in the airflow. This noise is perceived as snoring. By preventing the supine position during sleep, snoring and OSA can be prevented or reduced.
PREVENTING BACK POSITION WITH SOMNOSHIRT® STANDARD ANTI SNORE SHIRT
SomnoShirt® Standard is an affordable entry-level model for the correct sleeping position for people who suffer from positional snoring and nocturnal breathing stops. Wearing the anti snore shirt at night prevents the patient from lying on his or her back and stimulates the sleep on the side. Its is also known as snore shirt, snoring t shirt or sleep apnea shirt.
FOR WHOM IS SOMNOSHIRT® STANDARD SUITABLE?
The SomnoShirt® anti snore shirt is an ideal entry-level model in the field of positioning aids. It is suitable for patients with normal weight or slight overweight. If you are heavily overweight, we recommend our SomnoCushion® Pro positional sleep device due to its higher resilience.
SomnoShirt® Standard is available in the unisex sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL. Note: The anti snore shirt should fit close to the body and therefore not be ordered too large.
COMPOSITION & MATERIAL
The high-quality anti snore shirt is in a plain white and consists of 100 % pure cotton. On the back of the t-shirt a pocket is sewn on, which contains an ultralight hard foam roll made of polyethylene rigid foam. Alternatively, we offer our SomnoShirt® Comfort anti snore shirt with an air cushion inflatable by mouth which is particularly suitable for travelling
We also offer replacement shirts (without insert) to change. You are welcome to order those by telephone or e-mail.
Since positional therapy is accompanied by a training effect, most patients no longer have to wear positioning aids every night after a few weeks, as the body gets used to the lateral sleeping position and the supine position is automatically avoided.
Are you looking for an alternative for travelling? Then our SomnoShirt® Comfort anti snore shirt is the right choice for you. The air cushion can be stowed in your luggage to save space.
By the way: Positioning aids can also be used in combination with other anti snore devices against snoring & sleep apnoea, such as a CPAP mask or our SomnoGuard® mouth splints against snoring & OSA, such as our SomnoGuard® AP 2 mandibular advancement device.
